Aftermath of Double 11 shopping extravaganza in graphic detail!
Thousands of square meters of a gymnasium in Zhejiang University were recently been cleared to make room for the tsunami of parcels following the largest annual shopping day in the world, China’s "Singles' Day" on Nov 11, also known as "Double 11".

Pictures of the gymnasium give just a glimpse into the scale of shopping which was ordered online this year. Altogether 16 shelves were photographed brimming with 200,000 packages yet to be picked up by the campus students.
Double 11, which falls on November 11, is the Chinese equivalent of Cyber Monday in the US where millions of people "shop till they drop" in the hope of snapping up a bargain.
The number of transactions on China's largest online shopping siteTmall.com hit a record high this year reaching 10 billion yuan in less than seven minutes of the sales starting. China Post estimated that more than one billion express deliveries were sent out in the following days.
