protected animals

A joint team from Indonesia's Center for Conservation of Natural Resources and Forestry Police Unit rescued three golden langurs and leopards from the illegal animal trade on February 22, 2017.
In Indonesia, being found guilty of trading in protected species can lead to a penalty of up to five years in prison and fines of up to 100 million rupiah (about 7,500 US dollars).
However, the illegal wildlife trade in the country is so serious that it has pushed several bird species towards extinction.
