Esther, who passed on in February 8th 2002, is credited for being among the pioneers of micro-financing, thus helping to improve financial inclusion for millions of women across the world.
"On what would have been her 98th birthday, today’s Doodle shows Esther empowering the women of Ghana with the tools to improve their lives and communities," said Google.
