UNICEF Nigeria:400,000 children under the age of five will likely die of malnutrition this year in Nigeria if no treatment is given

UNICEF Nigeria

As the world celebrates this year’s World Food Day, 400,000 children under the age of five will likely die of malnutrition this year in Nigeria if no treatment is given. Poor access to adequate nutritious foods,
poor infant and young child feeding practices, and high burden of diseases are some of the complicating factors in child malnutrition. Let’s break the cycle of poverty and undernutrition by focusing on treating and feeding already malnourished children. Sufficient food intake can help prevent undernutrition in women and children.
