UBA Plc, a pacesetter in the support of the creative sector has once again lived up to its name by pulling it's weight behind the annual Abuja carnival, a multi cultural display of Nigeria's rich heritage.
UBA was a major sponsor of the event which played host to 30 states of the federation who participated in the carnival and collectively put in nothing short of their best in a colorful show of their unique culture to outdo themselves.
The high pitch event commenced at the Eagles Square with the official opening ceremony on December 3, by the host, FCT Minister, Alhaji Mohammed Musa Bello, who appreciated UBA for its support in helping to make the event a reality.
After the event was declared open, the states marched by one after the other with different cultural paraphernalia of various shapes and sizes.
Sokoto State, Kaduna State, Yobe State, Plateau State, Ogun State, Bauchi State, Imo State, Bayelsa State to mention a few all ignited ignited the venue with electrifying and scintillating performances which gave all seated including tourists something to cheer.
The UBA Float was not left out of the 5 star performance the event lived up to as the banks float branded with its numerous products and escorted by smartly dressed kids in UBA's branded polo shirt with beautiful Eagles firmly sitting on their heads signifying Vision and a determination to attain lofty dreams for its customers drove past a cheering crowd who could not help but stand a give a standing ovation to the brilliant display.
The next event lined up on the second day was the Durbar ceremony which was another grand display of the northern rich heritage. This was headlined by horses of the Bauchi and Yobe emirates who had a command performance with their beautifully decorated horses with expensive ornaments living the crowd screaming with excitement.
The next stop was at the Arts and Craft village where a programme was held for children. The children did not also disappoint as they entertained with nicely scripted short drama's bordering on the Nations Unity coupled with a beautiful display of Nigeria's heritage. Their powerful display left the audience screaming for more. The event ended with the children thanking UBA for the huge support that allowed them express their creative talents.
