Land authorities in Khartoum are set to demolish at least 25 churches in Khartoum north localities for allegedly trespassing into residential areas, a religious leader said, Radio Tamazuj reports.
The reports quotes a member of the Sudanese Christian Church, Meilad Musa as saying that the authorities in Khartoum have been refusing to approve plots for Christians to build places of worship like Muslims.
In 2014, a report by Christian Post said that Sudanese authorities issued an order banning the construction of all new Christian churches in the Muslim-dominated country.
The ban prompted deep concern from rights group stating that it was a violation of the right to freedom of religion or belief
